Project Selection

Good Deed? Fact!
Through careful selection of aid organizations, we ensure that your donation has a concrete impact. Selecting sustainable and effective projects that also handle donations transparently is one of the association’s core tasks and consists of the following steps:

1. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS & APPLICATION
Every year from December onwards, non-profit organizations can apply with a concrete project for the Advent Calendar of the following year via an online application system.
Application

2. FIRST SELECTION STAGE
Based on the online application, we check which organizations meet the necessary
Qualitätsstandards
and are suitable as partners. Requirements include registration as a non-profit organization, transparency, and a

4. Telephone Interview
In an intermediate step, we conduct a personal telephone interview with a shortlist of organizations and then select the 24 final projects that we propose to the advisory board.

5. Review by our Expert Team
The selected projects are reviewed again by an independent
advisory board
consisting of experts in the fields of nature, education, health, and provision/nutrition. The advisory board can raise critical questions and, in case of doubt, recommend against funding a project.

6. Contract
A contract is concluded with each organization. The contract specifies the implementation of the good deeds and obliges the organizations to provide detailed documentation of the project’s progress with reports, pictures, and evidence.

7. Into the Calendar
The good deed is included in the calendar and made a reality with each individual calendar!
Voraussetzungen für Partnerorganisationen
Quality
The basic requirement for funding through the calendar is official registration as a non-profit organization. The selected projects should have a clear objective, follow a measurable impact chain, and be implemented as part of sustainable (development) cooperation or nature conservation measures.
Transparency
The organization should report transparently on its goals, activities, and their impact on its website, and disclose how it uses donations. The transparency criteria of the Initiative for a Transparent Civil Society (ITZ), the German Donations Council, and the Social Reporting Standards apply. Commitment under the ITZ is required.
Neutrality and Sustainability
The organization should be neutral in its work, i.e., it should help people regardless of nationality, religion, ethnic origin, social status, or political beliefs. 24guteTaten e.V. also specifically supports organizations that provide help for self-help and embed their projects in a long-term strategy.
