24guteTaten e.V. is committed to helping people in need and poverty, regardless of nationality, religion, ethnic origin, or gender. We are neither politically nor religiously affiliated.
The volunteer and full-time members of the association are dedicated to the Advent calendar out of personal conviction and with passion for a fairer world.

Sebastian Wehkamp
works as a creative and advertising director. In 2010, he developed the concept for the Advent calendar and founded the 24guteTaten association. Since then, he has served as chairman and central contact person for the project.

Swantje Zach
is responsible for project management at 24guteTaten e.V. Her main duties include project support from the selection process through to monitoring. She is a nurse and studied geography with a focus on social/development geography and global change.

Annika Moros
gained experience in accounting and controlling after training as an office management clerk. Within the association, she works in accounting, customer service, and assistance.

Sara Lindemann
is a trained office clerk and sex educator. She studied economics, English, German studies, and linguistics for teaching and supports the 24guteTaten e.V. team in customer support, project selection, and various other areas.

Max Huber
is responsible for UX/UI design and product development at 24guteTaten e.V. He studied media technology and communication at TU Braunschweig and worked in publications and social media for the Berlin International Film Festival.

Evi Papadopoulou
is responsible for PR communication at 24guteTaten e.V. She has been working in PR and marketing management for more than 20 years. As a freelance consultant and with her agency EPOS PR & COMMUNICATION, she advises prominent individuals and companies of all sizes in business, lifestyle, entertainment & music.

Ute Shaw
is responsible for the North American version of the 24 GOOD DEEDS Advent calendar. She is an entrepreneur with a background in talent and event management and experience in television production. She has worked with many non-profit organizations to raise funds for charitable projects worldwide. She currently lives in Toronto, Canada.

Carlos Daniel
is responsible for the North American version of the 24 GOOD DEEDS Advent calendar. Sales excellence and building strong international brands have been his focus since studying business administration in Cologne. He lives in Toronto and considers the world his home.

Matthias Meuter
is treasurer and responsible for auditing the finances at 24guteTaten e.V. He began working in tax consulting in 2007, advising associations and public bodies. Since 2014, he has been self-employed and also active in other associations.

Dr. Jens Heinig
handles legal matters related to the Advent calendar. He is a notary in Monheim am Rhein and the author of several publications on international private law, procedural law, contract law, and consumer law.

Julia Menk
is the secretary of the support association 24guteTaten e.V. In her osteopathy practice, she also performs good deeds professionally every day.
The Advisory Board
24guteTaten e.V. is supported by experts in development cooperation, health, education, food security, and environmental and nature conservation. The advisory board assists the team with its expertise and long-standing experience in developing countries when selecting aid projects.

Christel Scheske
works for the Peruvian conservation program 'Conservamos por Naturaleza'. She supports private organizations and civil society in planning, implementing, and monitoring conservation measures. Previously, she gained experience at UNEP, UNHCR, and The Nature Conservancy. She holds a Master’s in Conservation Science and was a Mercator Foundation fellow focusing on marine environmental protection.

Mark Hörstermann
studied biology in Germany and the USA and supported species conservation projects in Africa. At BUND (German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation), he managed major conservation projects for many years. He currently works as an independent communications consultant and volunteers on the boards of various foundations.

Stephanie Petrasch
has worked in education for over 20 years, from primary to higher education. Her focus is on development cooperation with several years of on-site experience in countries like Ethiopia, Malawi, and Guatemala. She currently manages education projects for GIZ GmbH in the Middle East, currently in Yemen. She is particularly committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities and studied sociology in Germany, South Africa, and England.

Nathalie Demel
has been active in development cooperation both in Germany and abroad for almost 20 years. She worked for organizations such as Welthungerhilfe, BMZ, and Save the Children, where she helped design, manage, and support programs in rural development, food security, child protection, and income generation. She currently works as a policy advisor on nutrition at Welthungerhilfe in Bonn. She holds a degree in cultural economics and is a graduate of the 49th class of the Seminar for Rural Development.

Ann Katrin Kray
studied applied cultural sciences. She currently works as a project manager, developing an interactive and educational exhibition aimed at emotionally conveying global (climatic) interconnections and the effects of climate change.

Svenja Koch
leads the communications department at the Caritas Association for the Diocese of Hildesheim (a Catholic aid organization). She previously worked for several NGOs as a spokesperson and team leader, including Greenpeace (12 years), Oxfam, the German Red Cross – International Disaster Relief, Brot für die Welt, and Campact. A trained journalist and graduate of the 7th class at the Henri-Nannen School, she also worked in environmental reporting for NDR and Der Spiegel.

Astrid Saalbach
is a sustainability manager in the district of Böblingen. She launched the district's first sustainability strategy and is now primarily responsible for structurally anchoring the topic. Previously, she worked for several years at the Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation (SEZ), providing education and awareness on global interdependencies and advising NGOs, municipalities, and schools in collaboration with partners from the Global South. She began her career at the Hertie Foundation within the START program, which supports youth with migration backgrounds. She studied languages, business, and cultural studies in Passau and Buenos Aires.

Laura Scheske
leads the Sub3 Foundation in the Netherlands, supporting global organizations in arts & culture, society & humanitarian aid, and climate & environmental protection. Previously, she worked at Invest International and the Global Center on Adaptation in the Netherlands, as well as for GIZ and WHO/WMO in climate adaptation. Laura studied biomedical science.

Dr. Ismail Al Baz
has worked in international development cooperation for almost 30 years, with experience in both governmental and non-governmental sectors. His main focus is water, sanitation, and hygiene, particularly in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). He currently lives in Amman, Jordan, and leads a project on climate adaptation in the wastewater sector.

Mira Schneiders
works as a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in global health, bioethics, and community engagement. Her doctoral research focused on aging and family caregiving in emerging and developing countries. Previously, she worked in global health policy and research, including for NGOs in Cambodia and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Severin Pinilla
is a senior physician at the University Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Bern. Previous roles include work at a pharmaceutical company, a neurological intensive care unit, and research projects in medical education and oncology. He has also worked on WHO health promotion projects and as project leader for the German Association of the Deaf.

Jacob Rohm
is working to make long-distance travel by train a convenient option in the future. As a policy advisor for climate-friendly mobility at Germanwatch e.V., he supports policymakers in Berlin and Brussels in shifting traffic from planes and roads to rail. He previously worked as an analyst and consultant for PHINEO and the BMW Foundation in sustainability, education, and impact investing. Alongside his studies in politics and business ethics, he trained as a systemic consultant (DGSF) and approaches differing values with open-mindedness.

Johanna Wehkamp
has supported the 24guteTaten e.V. team from the very beginning. She earned her PhD in economics with a focus on financing the protection of tropical forests. She currently works for the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Previously, she worked for the World Bank and the United Nations in the field of forest conservation.
